Pet Microchipping Provides Peace of Mind
Burloak Animal Hospital is pleased to offer pet microchipping. The safe and rapid return of your pet is the focus of this service. We appreciate the stress and anxiety of being separated from your pet, and accidental separations are possible even with the most diligent of pet owners. Pet microchipping is a safe and permanent identification method, and it can give you peace of mind knowing that you have taken every precaution to have your pet returned to you.
Microchipping is offered for a variety of companion pets, such as:
- Dogs
- Cats
- Ferrets
- Guinea pigs
- Rabbits
- Birds
- Snakes
- Iguanas
This is a minimally invasive procedure that implants a very small microchip into your pet. The microchip is approximately the size of a grain of rice and is undetectable by your pet. This microchip can be read by animal shelters and veterinarian offices by using a hand-held scanning device, and it provides the name and contact details of the owner.
Implantation for certain exotic pets must be performed under anesthesia for their comfort and safety.
Our microchip is 1/3 the size of traditional microchip technology and is an ISO-standard Allflex minichip. In addition to supporting nationwide efforts to improve lost pet recovery through permanent ID, every Minichip sold will generate a donation to breast cancer research through the Recover a Pet, Uncover a Cure Campaign.
Please contact us to schedule an appointment. If you have any questions or concerns, our staff will be happy to detail the specific procedure that will be required for your pet.
